Review: Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi

Homegoing was such a well written book that I truly enjoyed. Yaa Gyasi creatively put together a collection of short stories that connected and intertwined each of the characters in the book.

The book begins in eighteenth-century slavery to twentieth-century Harlem. Stories beginning from the soils of Ghana and eventually being sold into the slave trade here in America. The stories follow the decendents of two half-sisters, one who is sold into slavery and the other who married a British slaver. Homegoing traces the generations of family that follow in such a unique way. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this novel.

I rated this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Definitely one of my favorite Book Girl Magic book club picks so far this year! I highly recommend this one!
