Review: The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
I can tell you that I had not the slightest idea what the Handmaid’s tale was about. I’m a huge tv watcher and a binge watching fanatic. For weeks I’d been hearing people all over my Facebook timeline tall about this show and praise the second season for how good it was. I just knew I had to check it out but read the book first. Not a fan of spoilers.
Going into this blind was the perfect thing to do! I was absolutely glued to the mysterious things that continued to unfold in this foreign world. I can’t imagine having my entire life stripped away and being forced to live this “new norm”.
It would have been tough for me to survive during this particular time period. Offred was particularly strong under the circumstances handed to her but also quite mischievous. She loved trouble and simply couldn’t resist the temptation to be rebellious.
Overall I rated this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I would have loved to have learned more about Offred’s past life and more in depth with how the world she lived in became what it was. Would also liked to have seen how her relationship with Nick developed in the end. So glad I read the book and now I’m hoping the show will give me a little more closure.
