Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand In The Sun and Be Your Own Person by Shonda Rhimes
While I’m already apart of the BGM book club (obviously), I also like to partake in other book clubs to challenge myself and discover new reads. This month I will be joining Black Women Read Books and rereading Shonda Rhimes’ Year of Yes! This book was so impactful and I’m excited to go back through it two years later. The audio version was my favorite because she inserts a couple of her live speeches in it and it makes you feel like you’re really there in that moment.
This book is also the reason I started watching Grey’s Anatomy two summers ago. In the book, Shonda made many references to Grey and Yang and I wanted to know more about them, so what did I do? I binged watched all 12 seasons (at the time) within 2 months like my life depended on it. Grey’s is also why Negan from The Walking Dead will always be Denny Duquette to me. *swoon*
Shonda is life, y’all. I love all her shows and sadly, I’ll be sad to bid Scandal a final farewell tonight. *tear*
Have you read this book yet? Thoughts?
